Large organisations require secure and reliable network storage, making SAN systems crucial for storing critical business data in data centres or on-site. A SAN system failure can significantly disrupt operations. In these instances, professional data recovery services are crucial for retrieving important data and maintaining business operations.

SAN System Data Recovery

SAN systems are specialised, high-speed networks for accessing block-level data storage. They handle large data volumes with great availability, performance, and scalability—perfect for large organisations. By linking multiple servers to a central storage pool, SAN systems boost efficiency and support critical applications needing fast, reliable data access. Using Fibre Channel or iSCSI protocols, these systems offer advanced features like data deduplication, replication, and snapshots for strong data protection and recovery.

SAN systems, like any device, can fail in different ways, such as hardware malfunctions, software errors, and network issues. These failures can make data inaccessible or, in the worst case, cause data loss.

Trying to recover data on your own or using the wrong software might seem cost-effective, but it often doesn’t work and can make things worse. In these cases, it’s best to seek professional help. Data recovery experts have the skills, tools, and experience to handle complex SAN system failures.

Are you facing hardware malfunctions, software corruption, or accidental deletions? We are adept at working with SAN systems from many reputable manufacturers, including, but not limited to, Dell EMC, HP, IBM, and Hitachi. Our data recovery services cover the entire UK, whether you’re in Birmingham, London, Glasgow, or Edinburgh.

Common Causes of Data Loss in SAN Systems

  • Hardware or System Failure: This could be due to wear and tear over time, manufacturer defects, or sudden damage such as power outages or surges.
  • Human Error: This can range from accidentally deleting files to incorrect configurations to mishandling devices.
  • Firmware or Software Corruption: This can also include issues with the operating system or file system managing the data storage. Firmware corruption or incompatibility can cause data corruption.
  • Malware or Virus Attacks: Malicious software can infiltrate systems, corrupt data, or even delete it entirely.
  • Natural Disasters: Unexpected events such as fires, floods, earthquakes, or other disasters can physically compromise the storage devices and lead to data loss.

Understanding these common causes can help develop appropriate data protection and recovery strategies. Regardless of the cause, PITS Global Data Recovery Services is prepared to assist in swiftly and securely retrieving your valuable data. For more information and personalised help, contact our UK-based experts. They are ready to provide details and guide you through every step of the data recovery process. Whether you have minor data issues or major SAN system failures, our team is here to ensure your business data stays secure.

Recovering Data from a Failed SAN Drive

To ensure a successful data recovery, it is crucial to provide the data recovery service with comprehensive details regarding your SAN configuration. This includes information about the type of SAN, hardware specifications, and any recent changes or upgrades. Such information is vital for customising the recovery process to meet your system’s specific requirements.

1

Start the Case

If you notice any signs of a problem with your SAN system, please switch it off immediately and contact us. You can contact us by completing the provided form or by calling 020 4515 6399. We’ll arrange to transport your device to our lab.

2

Fast Evaluation

Upon receiving your device, we conduct a thorough assessment to evaluate the damage and potential data recovery options. This assessment helps us create a customised plan to meet your data recovery needs.

3

SAN Data Recovery Process

Our skilled engineers use cutting-edge technology and innovative techniques to recover your data. We adhere to strict protocols to safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of your data during the recovery process.

4

Review Recovered Data

After the data recovery process, we’ll arrange a session for you to review your retrieved data. We’re unique in allowing you to view your files before payment. Once you confirm everything is correct, we can proceed with payment.

We use scientific methods and industry best practices for SAN recovery on all systems, regardless of RAID configuration. Our process begins with a thorough assessment of the affected SAN system to identify the types of failures and data loss. During this diagnostic phase, we use advanced tools to scan and analyse the SAN structure, including its RAID setup, to create a customised recovery plan.

Only We Provide Remote File Verification Sessions

Our file verification process via remote session is crucial for customer satisfaction. We are the only company offering this unique service. After successful data recovery, we initiate a remote session, allowing our customers to review and check their files remotely.

Whether you encounter accidental file deletions, hard drive failures, data corruption, or malfunctioning SAN devices, our advanced solutions can help retrieve your valuable data and minimise disruptions to your business operations. Get in touch with us today for a comprehensive and efficient solution to SAN data recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

SAN stands for Storage Area Network. It is a high-speed network that connects storage devices to servers, providing access to data storage and retrieval at the block level. This allows numerous servers to access the same storage, making it ideal for enterprise-level applications with intensive data needs.

SAN offers several advantages, including scalability, high performance, and increased reliability. With SAN, organisations can easily add more storage capacity without disrupting operations. Additionally, it enables quicker data transfer and enhances data security by implementing redundancy and fault tolerance measures.

Implementing and maintaining a SAN system can be costly, posing a significant disadvantage. Moreover, effective setup and management of SANs may necessitate specialised IT expertise. Another drawback is the intricate troubleshooting process in case of system failures, potentially resulting in prolonged business downtime.

SAN storage connects multiple servers to a centralised device through a high-speed network. Data is stored and managed within the SAN, allowing faster access and more efficient management. This will enable organisations to store and access large amounts of data securely and scalable. Additionally, SANs often utilise advanced technologies such as RAID to provide redundancy and data protection in case of hardware failures. SAN storage offers a reliable, high-performance data storage and management solution.

SAN and RAID are two distinct storage technologies with different functions. A SAN, or Storage Area Network, is a network that grants access to centralised, block-level data storage. Conversely, RAID, or Redundant Array of Independent Disks, combines several physical disk drive components into a unified logical unit to enhance data redundancy, performance, or both. By incorporating RAID into a SAN system, you can improve data protection with an additional layer of security.

We were thoroughly impressed by PITS Global Data Recovery Services since these guys could recover not only the half or majority, but all of our data that we sent them on Seagate NYTRO SSD. There was ... more than 1TB of data saved up on that device to which we had no access anymore. Despite difficulties, PITS recovered everything and transferred the data to a new HDD. Extraordinary you may ask? Not for PITS and their professionalism 💪🏻Absolutely brilliant

I believe this is the only company in the UK that has its own data recovery lab and doesn't send customers' devices elsewhere. I have been searching for such a company for a while, as it's hard for me ... to trust anyone after previous unsuccessful data recovery attempts. Besides having their own lab, PITS definitely boasts amazing customer service. They handled my complicated data loss situation with great efficiency, recovering every piece of lost data. During the final step, which I believe was called the verification session, we had the opportunity to check the recovered data and give our approval. It was a huge relief. Cheers for the brilliant service and the data recovery!

The place is next to the Nee Wimbledon Theatre and Polka Theatre. I was visiting PITS because of my issue with LaCie 1TB HDD that had a water damage and wasn’t working anymore. The device not working ... wasn’t that big of an issue but then I remembered that it had all my academic files in it. That’s when PITS came in clutch and recovered every file that was saved in there. I got all my ~700gb back with no missing data! Imagine the work they had done, which is pretty impressive. Well deserved 5 ⭐️
